Coronavirus (COVID-19) Information

Covid 19

Coronavirus is a recent virus that broke out in Wuhan, China starting at the end of 2019. The virus can be spread from person to person through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes. It is also thought to be transmitted by people who are in close proximity with one another, around 6 feet apart. People who are affected from the virus have different symptoms. Some people have more milder symptoms than others. Other cases can be so severe that it can cause pneumonia and become fatal. Young children, elderly, and people with weak immune systems are at the greatest risk of death from the virus. There has been lots of information going around about the coronavirus. Be sure to inform yourself about the virus with accurate sources.

Preventing the Spread

Father and Son Baking

The best way to ensure this virus doesn't continue to spread exponentially (check out a thorough analysis on the spread of coronavirus here), people should stay at home and prevent close contact with anyone other than your family. People who become sick at home should wear face masks and not go outside to prevent the further spread of the virus. If the spread is not limited, our hospitals and medical facilities will overflow with sick people who may be unable to get treatment. People should take action now to prevent the spread in the best way possible-stay at home.
